Crawling, a view of the ladybug room, and a little love

Ok, so this has been a very eventful/busy week.  I am sorry I have not written on here...for my 3 readers.  All in all it has been great!  I last wrote about an interview that I had at work for a job that was supposed to be full time, but I had interest in the position as part time.  They wanted to still meet me, sooooo I went and interviewed, and they made an exception to accept me as part time/ weekends only!  I never would have thought they would, but I am so excited.  I am not sure that I posted a description but basically it is an office/technical position that serves as a liaison to help on-board every new hire that comes to the Disneyland Resort and hires into any park operations role.  They also assist in Cast Activity events and other miscellanious tasks that need to be done.

On the same day that I got the job, Lilly started scooting forward!  Although everyone said I was mean because I "teased" her to move....hey she kept crawling toward the strawberry I had on my plate.  She also has figured out to hold herself up in a standing position....she can't move, but she can stand.

We also went to Disneyland, and saw "The Vow" (not so good), met with both my parents, and Grant's, and just enjoyed each others company.

I also made a dress (a later post) because it is a gift, and thought about many different nursery ideas provided I have another baby.  I don't know why but I just have been in the idea mode lately.  Here are some of them....a birdy theme, but mixed with "Somewhere over the Rainbow"...all I have currently is the idea of neutral colors, and a quote on the wall that says "There's a land that I've heard of once in a lullaby" and a mobile that plays over the rainbow with blue birds and rainbows.  I think part came from inspiration from Grant's cousin who said she had an Oz theme for her nursery, and the fact that somewhere over the rainbow, always calms Lilly down when she hears it.  Although I would only want it to be the beginning part of the movie, not all of Oz.  And my other idea was for a "tangled" theme...but only in a way...I would have a paper lantern mobile and paper lanterns in the sky, and a quote on the wall that says All at once, everything is different, now that I see you.  Even if there isn't much of a tangled theme or known that it the quote is from tangled, I thought it was perfect for a babies room...isn't that how mommy's feel when they first see their baby?  The quote is from the song "I see the light" here is a link to the song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uw6q5189kpc
Anyways, I know that I had posted pics of Lilly's room on Facebook, but this was the design for her room.  All ladybugs, which I had so much trouble finding, and now....of course, I see them everywhere.  Here are some pictures.  I recently moved her bumper, because first of all, bumpers are a no-no now days, although Lilly was fine when she was smaller, but now she pulls it down, Also, you couldn't see the bed skirt anyway, so it adds a little bit of ladybug flare to her room.

And finally, we ended with Valentine's Day, which we didn't truly have plans for anything, but Grant got Lilly a cute card that was bigger than her, and we went to dinner at Don Jose, one of our fave Mexican restaurants.

Waiting is the worst!

Well today I tooka break from crafting and caring to go to a job interview at work. It is for a position that helps inboard cast members at Disneyland and gives them the tools to succeed in their new roles that they are placed in. I would work with their managers during their first 120 days to make sure they are give them info that's needed for their job. I would also call before their first shift to make sure they understand where to go and meet them on their first day to introduce them to their trainer. Along with that, there are various other responsibilities that involve a lot of various tasks. I really hope I have the chance for the position. The only thing is I want a part time position and they are still unsure if they will be offering that or full time only. Overall I think my interview went well but I won't find out until the end of this week or early next week. Here's hoping!

Yay for productiveness!

Well this week has been quite a busy one...well not really, but it seemed busier.  Monday our little girl turned 6 months!!! How does this happen?  I know, I know people think "what are you going to say when she starts school, graduates, moves out, gets married, etc."  But I just cannot believe how time truly flies.  Along with a half birthday of course comes the dreaded doctor's appointment...for her that is.  I really think she is starting to be able to associate the order of procedures...check ears, nose, mouth, tummy, etc. and then THE SHOTS!   As soon as her ears were being checked she started crying, which if you know Lilly is not like her to cry about much. And then they came and went, and she cried, but got over it.  And along with that we finally got her social security card filed.  We still have yet to receive that, but at least we will be able to file taxes... yay for a baby credit.  We also had small group, fuel, and went to dinner with my parents.  And of course, I had to sew.  I just keep pinning things on pinterest, and I figure, what is the use if I don't actually do any of the things I pin.  Isn't that the point.  So...while digging through the box of get rid of clothes, which I need to stop digging through because I always pull something out, I found a shirt that Grant used to wear and was getting rid of.  So...or should I say sew, I made a t-shirt dress for Lillianne, or a dress from a shirt.  It turned out very cute, and then I tried it on her.. Why must I always make things harder than they seem?  I really wanted it to be tailored, but that was a silly idea because she is growing quickly, and I may have cut a little too much.

Then it was on the smaller than I wanted side, and gapping in the front.  So I added two panels that can be adjusted as she grows on the sides, a button closure on the back, and elastic in the front.  I still need to finish the bottom hem, but I think it turned out pretty cute. Here it is on Lillianne.  I think she may like it.

And here we are at Friday and I am so happy I don't have to work because I gave away my shift. I think leaving is going to get a lot harder because Lillianne is now realizing when I leave the room...ut o. Anyway, maybe I will use this evening to take a trip to hobby lobby for more fabric!
